WordPress and Joomla CMS to develop a website

Those who love the Internet probably have a dream of having a personal Web site to use to share their passions or to communicate their expertise to others. Not everyone, however, is a computer programmer, and this may seem like an insurmountable obstacle to building a website.

Actually, this is not quite the case. Today, creating a website is really simple the editors of www.nonsolowindows.it blog specializing in technology and the web explain some interesting facts.

There are software/cms in the web world that provide users with the ability to create a website in just a few steps. Among these open source software it is worth mentioning first of all WordPress. Creating a blog or website with WordPress is really very simple.

Just go to the WordPress home page and click on ‘Create Website’. WordPress allows you to use a .com domain and take advantage of a platform that allows you to optimize your site for the search engines most used by users. If the user’s idea is to create a blog or site simply provide an e-mail address, username, password and blog address.

Of course, you will need to check whether the chosen address has not already been used by some other user. In case you do not want to invest money for your website you can use .wordpress.com domain for free, once you have chosen the address. If, on the other hand, you want to make sure that the word ‘wordpress’ does not appear on your website all you have to do is to choose one of the many available domains (e.g. .net, ,org, .it) which are paid for but the annual costs of maintaining the site are really small. If the site you are going to create is corporate or, at any rate, is an e-commerce the costs are higher but, however, not excessive and are repaid by the many additional functions that WordPress offers.wordpress or joomla

Regardless of these choices or the intended use of one’s website, the user has the opportunity to immediately choose the graphic layout to give to their site and, most importantly, to start publishing posts. WordPress offers, in addition, the opportunity to download many plugins that will help the user to better manage their website. Another widely used platform for DIY website building is Joomla. Joomla is a CMS, a content management software that allows users to manage their website independently.

Using Joomla is slightly more complex in the sense that there is a need to download the program on the platform’s official site and install the server on the Pc. Once this is done, however, there are no particular difficulties in registering the domain and managing the website. Clearly, those who need a site for corporate or business needs can access other richer and more complex functions. If, however, the needs are simple then there should be no difficulty in using Joomla. This CMS, by the way, is also optimized for search engines. Finally, another CMS that allows you to create blogs or websites for free is Drupal. Even then you have to do the platform download.

After downloading there is a need to configure the CMS. Good results can be achieved even without knowing Drupal in detail. These are the three most widely used open source CMSs for creating websites. If, however, the user wants to create a blog then other platforms, which are also free, can also be used. There is, for example, Blogger, Google’s blog platform, but also Blog.com, Website X5 and many others. To get started we have many CMSs available, but for a professional website it is always best to rely on specialized digital agencies!
