Like, Love, Ahah, Wow, Sigh, Grr… We’ll be the judge of that! As of today, five new icons in addition to the Like are available on Facebook. The six new Reactions are designed in a typical Emoji style, which animate when you click on the post.
Our reaction to our friends’ posts can now be chosen more precisely. Facebook allows us different types of Reaction, so we can interact in a more complex way and receive, in case we were a company, more and more precise information about our fans’ reactions to our posts. Greatly absent is the “Don‘t Like”, some were waiting for it hopefully, but the founder of Facebook has clearly expressed himself on the matter by stating that the “don’t like” button has not been included, as it would be strongly limiting in interactions. With the new Reactions we could express all our agreement or disagreement with cute Emoticons that graphically render our thoughts. We will be able to choose a heart to express true love for what we are approving, a surprised smiley face to show amazement at the news that strikes us but also the smiley face for the post that triggers laughter or a saddened face for an unpleasant news and finally the furious Emoticon for something that particularly outrages us. Will the Like still be used? Perhaps for the less emotional, a classic Like will be worth more than a thousand other reactions!
