Zuckerberg in Rome, meeting with institutions and Luiss students

On August 29, the founder and Ceo of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, arrived in Rome. The event had been announced only a few days earlier, on August 24, precisely with a post on his FB profile, and the day before yesterday he finally reached the Capital to meet the Pope, Prime Minister Renzi and in the afternoon Luiss students for a formative Q&A. Mark Zuckerberg is without a shadow of a doubt a young star of our time, from whom to take example and inspiration. Indeed, his answers to students stimulated reflections and gave hope to young people and beyond.

Some topics covered during the meeting with Luiss students

Mark Zuckerberg took the stage with a beaming smile and immediately expressed his immense joy at being in Rome, a city he loves so much. His first thought immediately went to the earthquake victims and Associations such as the Red Cross, with whom he complimented the excellent work done and the effective communication that took place between the various operators. The FB Ceo also reported that on the day of the earthquake that hit central Italy hard, 50 percent of the population logged on to FB and took advantage of Safety Check, an automated system for safety checking. This feature was specifically created to check the health status of users in the event of a disaster, terrorist attack, or natural disaster. Mark went on to anticipate that his team would already be working to allow Facebook users to independently initiate Safety Check to let their loved ones know their health status in the event of a natural disaster or dangerous situation. Continuing in the Questions and Answers, the students then asked Mark what, in his experience, would be the 3 qualities that would help them rise to the top and achieve success. In this regard, Zuckerberg advises to always keep a clear idea of the impact one intends to leave in the world. In his specific case, his goal has always been to do something useful for others and thus employ all his strength and resources to promote, among many other things, internet access in the world. He also took care, however, to specify that it is legends that say Facebook created it on its own without anyone’s help. In fact, according to Mark, surrounding oneself with an efficient and good team would be the starting point to achieve the set goals. Finally, Mark concludes his speech by advising students to never be discouraged by defeats and small failures, because perseverance is the key to success. Definitely advice to keep in mind.
