This year’sF8 (conference where Facebook ‘s corporate board announces the latest news being planned by the web giant) was held again. This edition again explained new implementations, of the platform that will bring significant changes in the user experience. The trend was already guessed from the previous ones but the 2015 conference is the one that sanctioned the Social ‘s will to impose itself, not only as a platform for social networking but as a structured element for the entire web usage (along the lines of Google let’s say).
F8: Facebook conquering the Internet
Here is a quick run-down of all the latest news:
Messenger
Whatsapp, Skype, Snapchat have a dizzying number of users, in fact in recent years social networking (by now we could safely call it “social chat”) has made an overwhelming return to being perceived as a “virtual plaza,” where to weave relationships and initiate conversations. Obviously Facebook is riding this wave, (it has not only acquired Whatsapp but is also present with its Messenger) giving developers the opportunity to build applications that will integrate directly into Messenger with the chance to be shared by means of group or private messages, this will make them constantly downloadable by hundreds of millions of users. In this way the chat will become a one-stop shop window for all programmers. As far as businesses are concerned, it is now clear that Facebook wants to enable them to facilitate conversations with their customers by leveraging its chat. This will bring huge benefits in terms of marketing; companies will be able to keep an eye on trends and listen to their target audience live.
Plugins
June 23 is the date that will mark the end of the now obsolete “like box,” new sites will be integrated with the Page Plugin, similar to the previous one but better in terms of graphics and in addition to the ability to directly put the “like” there will also be a “share” button. With video player was definitely declared war on Youtube and Vimeo, this new function of Facebook will allow embedding videos, on the pages of their own site, increasing the range of opportunities made available to the user. Comments will also be the stars of our future websites, it is the Silicon Valley giant’s intention to match conversations from posts shared on Facebook with those inside the site itself (even the comment management and monitoring tool has been enhanced)
News feed
In recent times Facebook has been carrying out a lot of studies in the field of virtual reality, this is evident from the new feature that it will soon launch on the market, the much-discussed “Oculus” devices. The result in using them will be to get animated gifs.
Analytics
From this last F8 it became clear how Facebook is paying special attention to Apps. (also to videos actually), obvious are the integrations that make the most money. With this new feature, the Social will give developers the opportunity to study their audience, in order to better understand how the applications produced are used.
Sending money
A function that will allow sending money will be applied to Messanger, so it will also become a direct competitor to Paypal. The social is trying to become the undisputed leader of the web, to the detriment of Google, trying to assimilate the entire market…here we go after that of the Mountain View giant has begun the era of “cannibalism” of Facebook, who can save themselves!!!
