Writing a Search Engine Optimized Post

In our last post we covered the topic of link building and its importance at the SEO level to better optimize one’s site: again with a view to a professional SEO consulting and climbing positions on search engines and the related weapons to be used for this purpose we see today what is another topic of great importance.

That is, how to write an effective post for your blog in an SEO Friendly way. Writing your posts trying to make them SEO Friendly means paying special attention to some features of the content, writing them always thinking about how the search engine, Gooogle over all, will go to view our content. In this regard, there are several basic rules, which in every SEO agency are adhered to in order to write content that is as SEO Friendly as possible: let’s look at some of them.

Tips for an SEO Friendly post

  1. Limit keywords: it is important to limit what are the keywords around which you want to create the content of the post. To be clear, it makes little sense to write an article that revolves around 10 keywords and thus hope to index it on more keywords. The advice is to choose 1 or at most 2 keywords and structure the entire post around those. Once these words have been identified, it is important, when writing the post, not to go overboard in repeating them too frequently or else you will get the opposite result: that is, a penalty from the search engines.
  2. Give precedence to long tail keywords: a long tail keyword is a specific keyword composed of 4 or more terms: they are therefore extremely specific, generate more qualified traffic and, if we are talking about keywords purchased in an adwords campaign, also have lower cost.
  3. Optimize meta descriptions: the meta description is that portion of alternative text that appears on search results going to provide further specification on what the topic is about. Optimizing this portion of text by also including the long tail keyword on which you want to index is a good way to make your post Seo Friendly.
  4. Do not duplicate content: it is important that the same post does not appear within a blog repeated two or more times: however, it may happen that you need to place a content in two distinct sections of a blog. In this case it is important to specify the ‘canonical’ tag through which you can identify duplicate content and suggest to Google which of the identical pages to prioritize in search results.
  5. Do not include too many topic tags: a topic tag, a tag referring to a specific topic, goes on to create a new topic as well as a new page within a blog in which all content related to that tag will be displayed. That is why it is advisable to use few tags and possibly not too similar to each other. It is preferable to choose a maximum of 8/10 tags deemed important and related to our business and always use those.
  6. Use SEO friendly Url: not only towards search engines, but also towards those who browse the site. It is important that visitors always understand, even from the Url, which section they are in and which page they are viewing. Search engines favor sites with a simplified Url structure.
  7. Use internal links: it is good practice to link to other pages of the blog as much as possible. Of course, they should always be relevant, thematic and thoughtfully designed links. This also helps to give relevance to the blog content as well as provide insights and additional details to visitors.
  8. Optimize images: it is not only the text that needs to be reasoned with an SEO perspective. An image can also be effective in this regard. How? First of all, choosing an image that is explanatory of the topic you are dealing with is already an advantage from a visitor perspective. From a technical point of view then you can optimize the chosen image by going to insert the “alt” attribute. In this way, when you hover the cursor over the image in question, a short textual description of it will be displayed.
  9. Use responsive design for the blog: this is a special technique for graphic design of websites. A responsive site uses a layout that automatically adapts to the medium on which it is viewed (pc, tablet, smartphine, etc…). This ensures that the site is ‘visitor friendly’ by adapting to any target visitor: from those who only browse from a pc to those who exclusively use a tablet, pc etc..

Always write from a reader’s perspective

These are some tips for making your blog posts SEO Friendly. As a final suggestion we feel like adding what we have always advocated and which goes to amalgamate and, in part, overturn everything listed so far; that is, to always think, when writing a post, from a visitor’s perspective. Think about what may be useful to the reader and discern it from the superfluous. Manage internal/external links and links by always thinking about the real usefulness these may have for those who read our posts. It sounds strange but Google (and with it the major search engines), although based on a mainly algorithmic logic, will appreciate these small “human” shrewdnesses toward visitors.
